The Cost of Hope

I survived abuse and walked away from my family with my son, only to be failed by the justice system, which has traumatized my 12-year-old son. He panics whenever he sees a police van, thinking I will be taken and he will be left alone.


WHAT THEY BUILT AFTER


It's been three months, and it's hard, especially since my son is also attending therapy and dealing with the psychological impacts, which I blame myself for. But the peace of mind we now have is bliss, and I have learned to be cautious about the things and people I let into my personal space.
